Day show
The Bloody & Megumi Yabushita & Morimatsu & Sachie Abe & Ranmaru slaughtered Sumie Sakai & Fang Suzuki & Alda Moreno & Obatchi Iizuka & Hiroyo Muto in a 5 vs. 5 team single showdown. It started off with Abe pinning Obatchi in la magistral at 8:38. Ranmaru pinned Moreno in a kaiten ebigatame at 8:10 then Morimatsu pinned Muto at 6:10 to clinch the series. After it was already over, Fang beat Bloody by decision after an extension so it wasn't a shut out, but then Yabushita beat Sakai by decision after an extension so it should be 4-1 (the results said 3-1, but there were 5 matches) in favor of Bloody's team.

Night show
Bloody & Yabushita & Abe & Obatchi & Himemaru won a 5 vs. 5 team single showdown over Sakai & Morimatsu & Fang & Ranmaru & KAZUKI 5 falls to 3.

Yuko Kosugi, who said she was retiring after losing to The Bloody on 8/3 is just going to "rest" for a while instead. Kosugi has returned the AWF Sekai Joshi Senshuken, with a 4 way decision match for the now vacant title between Yabushita, Sakai, Fang, & Morimatsu scheduled on 8/27 at Tokyo DIFFER Ariake. The problem with Kosugi is rumored to be over money, so she may wrestle elsewhere in the meantime if any of the other leagues can afford to take on a talented young wrestler that never had a chance to draw even though she was supposed to be a 'top star." It's really sad seeing the leagues fall apart. JWP & Jd' were the only leagues that tried to go with a new generation of wrestlers on top, but the veterans never put over any of the new stars in any way to get them to be taken seriously. Maybe it wouldn't have worked anyway, but the way things happened, they never had a prayer. The JWP four started going in reverse wrestling wise, but the Jd' four of Bloody, Kosugi, Yabushita, & Sakai have kept improving. The problem with Jd' is beyond those four only the Maru's and Abe are even half ass wrestlers, and they can't get any stars to come in and fight the four because it's "beneath them." Thus, it's either the same good to very good matches over and over or trading wins with women like Momoe Nakanishi or Yoshiko Tamura who are talented, but are basically glorified jobbers in their own league.

Saya pinned Kosugi with her Dragon suplex hold at 8:15 for the first fall, but Ran used a Princess rana on Fang just 15 seconds later. Kosugi & Muto won their first fall when Muto used a Kawazu (?) otoshi on Ran at 11:05. Kosugi won the match when she got revenge on Saya by making her submit to a henkei STF at 11: 18.
In the main event, Lioness Asuka & Morimatsu beat Crusher Maedomari & KAZUKI when Morimatsu used her Michinoku driver II on KAZUKI at 14:43.

Abe (pin 4:06) KAZUKI
Crusher (golleyramanbomb 3:15) Abe
Yabushita (huracanrana 1:27) Crusher
Lioness (pin 1:15) Yabushita
(double ring out 7:24) Kosugi & Lioness
Muto (Argentine backbreaker 5:43) Morimatsu

3/7:

3/7 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 810
Sumie Sakai broke her left leg, so she instead of getting her first shot at the Lioness's TWF single title on this show, her TWF tag titles were given to Crusher Maedomari & Morimatsu because Sakai obviously won't be ready to make her defense against that team on 3/16. The tag titles were then put up for grabs in a 2/3 fall 8 woman tag match. They had the two heel teams on one side and the two face teams on the other side, so I'm really sure how the titles were supposed to be decided in this match unless they went to the team of the wrestler that scored the deciding fall. Anyway, it was Lioness Asuka & Crusher Maedomari & Morimatsu & KAZUKI over Yuko Kosugi & Megumi Yabushita & Ranmaru & Himemaru. Kosugi pinned Morimatsu with her bungee footstick at 8:41 to win the first fall. Lioness towerhackerbombed Yabushita at 2:38 to win the second fall. Maedomari pinned Ranmaru at 12:46 with a golleyramanbomb (like a Ligerbomb, but the opposition is on Crusher's shoulders like they are going to give her a huracanrana) to keep the titles.
Yuko Kosugi beat The Bloody to win the right to challenge Asuka for the TWF Sekai Single Senshuken that she wasn't able to win the Jaguar's Cup for. Kosugi won when the ref stopped the match at 11:08 because Bloody was trapped in a katagatame.

2/27:

2/27 Osaka NGK Studio 155 & 205
Jd' ran a Saijaku (most weak) One Day Tournament where the losers would keep fighting until there was one ultimate loser who would have her head shaved. First round results were:
Morimatsu (lariat 1:43) Harumi Torii
KAZUKI (henkei jackknife hold 9:15) Obatchi Iizuka
The Bloody (Bloody EX 10:09) Megumi Yabushita
Hiroyo Muto (Argentine backbreaker 6:40) Yuka Nakamura
Ran Maru (daruma shiki no German suplex hold 8:27) Sachie Abe
Yuko Kosugi (diving elbow 11:20) Fang Suzuki

Second round results were:
Yabushita (udehishigigyakujujigatame 7:05) Obatchi
Fang (uranage 8:52) Abe

Semifinals were:
Obatchi (Obatchi drop 7:23) Torii
Abe (la magistral 0:23) Nakamura

Final:
Nakamura (pin 11:42) Torii

2/22:

2/22 Tokyo Kitazawa Town Hall 220
Sumie Sakai won Jaguar's Cup to earn a shot at Lioness Asuka's TWF Sekai Single Senshuken on 3/7. This match went on forever because these three are so even. I'm going to be really disappointed if this isn't shown on TV or they just clip it (their next Samurai show is listed as being the 3/7 Korakuen Hall one and GAORA is finally working their way up to the 12/28 Korakuen show with Lioness vs. Cooga). Anyway, Bloody started things off with a win over Sakai in 6:12 with her Bloody EX. Kosugi proceeded to defeat Bloody in 2:09 with an elbow attack. Sakai beat Kosugi in 5:10 with her nadare shiki no Frankensteiner. Bloody flash pinned Sakai in 0:05 with her Dragon suplex hold. Kosugi beat Bloody for the second time in 8:36 after her nadare shiki no fisherman buster. Sakai beat Kosugi for the second time, making her submit to the doushime sleeper at 8:48. The cycle finally ended when Sakai pinned Bloody in 10:20. Since Sakai is the lowest ranked member of these three, it makes the most sense for her to win a match to get the title shot because she's the farthest away from receiving one based on her wins. Kosugi could easily be giving a title shot after a second win over Shark, and Bloody has been against Lioness for quite some time so a tag win over Lioness could warrant a title shot. Sakai's doesn't have a program that involves a veteran, and since none of the young wrestlers are TWF contenders, there's no young wrestlers in Jd' that have credibility on the level where a win over them puts you in contention for that title.

2/21:

2/21 Tokyo Ota-ku Min Plaza Taiikukan 145
Sumie Sakai beat Megumi Yabushita & Fang Suzuki to win Block C of Jaguar's Cup. Sakai beat Fang with a moonsault press in 3:23. Yabushita then beat Sakai in 1:56 with a new version of her Yabuhebigatame, called Yabuhebigatame II. Fang then beat Yabushita in 3:22 after a uranage, so we were right back to where we started. Sakai beat Fang for the second time, pinning her in a huracanrana at 10:33. This time Sakai pinned Yabushita in a Tiger suplex hold at 10:39. This almost had to be the best of the three blocks due to either Sakai or Yabushita being in every match, and wrestling each other twice even though the first one was short. The Sakai vs. Kosugi vs. Bloody final should rule, as it's the three best wrestlers actually in Jd'.

2/20:

2/20 Odawara Shi Kawahigashi Town Center Marronier Hall 497
Yuko Kosugi beat Hiroyo Muto & Morimatsu to win Block B of Jaguar's Cup. She got off to a slow start, getting upset in 8:27 when she submitted to Muto's Argentine backbreaker. Muto failed to win two a row though, as Morimatsu Michinoku driver II'd her in 5:32. Kosugi took advantage of the new life Morimatsu's win gave her, pinning Morimatsu in a zenpo kaiten ebigatame (victory roll) at 8:35. Kosugi then avenged the loss to Muto, pinning her in 9:30 following her bungee footstick.

Lioness Asuka will defend the TWF Sekai Single Senshuken on 3/7 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall against the winner of the 2nd Jaguar's Cup tournament. This is good because it increases the value of the tournament, and we'll finally get to see one of their younger wrestlers get a shot at the title (Bloody did get a shot in 1998, but Kyoko treated her like she was a jobber). Of course, this match won't draw but this is Jd' we are talking about, a league where nothing does. For something to begin drawing, they'll have to get the fans to consider their young stars, The Bloody, Yuko Kosugi, Sumie Sakai, and/or Megumi Yabushita as close enough to Lioness' level that they are a threat to beat her. Very little progress has been made in this area, and it's already been 14 months since Jaguar retired...
Megumi Yabushita & Sumie Sakai will defend the TWF Sekai Tag Senshuken against Crusher Maedomari & Morimatsu on 3/16 at Club Citta Kawasaki. This will be ugly. A win over Crusher might help a little, but Morimatsu will be the one that jobs.

2/19:

2/19 Tokyo Itabashi-ku ? Hall 320
The Bloody beat KAZUKI & Sachie Abe to win the A Block of Jaguar's Cup. Both opponents were pinned in a new move called Bloody EX, the first coming in 10:54 and the second coming in 9:38.
Lioness Asuka & Crusher Maedomari beat Megumi Yabushita & Sumie Sakai when Crusher lariated Yabushita at 10:55. This set Crusher up for a title shot.

1/23:

1/23 Osaka Nanbo NGK Studio 145 & 210
Jd' ran an entire league in one day. The league was billed as NGK Meibutsu (specialty) Heel & Baby Gonna (confusion) ni Chusen (lottery) One Day Leaguesen. The final standings were as follows:
Yuko Kosugi & Morimatsu 3-1-1
The Bloody & Hiroyo Muto 3-1-1
Sumie Sakai & Fang Suzuki 3-2
Saya Endo & Sachie Abe 2-3
Megumi Yabushita & KAZUKI 1-3-1
Ran Maru & Obatchi Iizuka 1-3-1
In the final, Kosugi & Morimatsu beat Bloody & Muto when Kosugi forced Muto to submit to the STF at 8:01.

1/22:

Jd' is currently training an action actress and hope to debut her on 4/16.

1/13: Lioness Is Joshi Puroresu MVP, But Not MVP Of Her Main Promotion?

1/13 Tokyo Kitazawa Town Hall 205
Jd' had a series of matches between Hiroyo Muto, KAZUKI, and Ran Maru to crown the 6th Jd' Junior champion. It started off with Muto using the Argentine backbreaker on KAZUKI in 4:25. Maru then used a zenpo kaiten ebigatame on KAZUKI at just 0:56. Don't ask my why KAZUKI kept fighting after losing two in a row. Anyway, KAZUKI finally got a win, beating Maru in the rematch with a nadare shiki no suisha otoshi at 6:34. Muto then beat KAZUKI for the 2nd time with a noten (crown of the head) Karadake wan (no clue what this is, Karadake is a place in Japan, but wan is supposed to be rate/ratio/proportion/percentage/profit/assignment/10%). KAZUKI finally didn't wrestle, and Muto beat Maru with her Argentine backbreaker at 7:34 to win the title.
The main event saw the heel trio of Lioness Asuka & Crusher Maedomari & Morimatsu beat Yuko Kosugi & Megumi Yabushita & Sumie Sakai when Lioness towerhacker bombed Yabushita at 17:43.

James Phillips sent along the winners of the Jd' Awards as listed in Shukan Puroresu:
Best Match:
Winner: Asuka vs. Kyoko Aug 22
First Runner Up: Bloody & Fang vs. Sakai & Yabushita Oct 9
Second Runner up: Bloody & Fang vs. Sakai & Yabushita Sept 3
The 60:00 draw was ****, but Lioness vs. Kyoko from 1/24 was better than any of these.

MVP
Winner: Bloody
First Runner Up: Asuka
Second Runner Up: Kosugi
Bloody has improved tremendously over the past two years, but has yet to reach the level of credibility or popularity that would let them give her a win over Lioness.

Best Technique
Winner: Sumie Sakai's moonsault attack

Best Rookie:
Ran Maru
Maru is good athlete in a super hero costume. She's small like everyone else in this promotion, but seems to have very good potential.

1/10:

1/10 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 1,650
The first even singles match between Lioness Asuka & Dynamite Kansai failed to sellout Korakuen Hall, which pretty much sums up the problems for these two promotions. This match had been postponed for a little over a year due to Kansai getting injured and various other reasons. It says a lot for Chigusa's drawing power when Lioness' big matches against the other big stars don't even sellout Korakuen Hall, although Jd' doesn't have the names on the undercard to back up the main event. Anyway, as you'd expect, Lioness won the match, downing Kansai at 23:39 with LSD (Lioness surprise driver) III. Kansai was going for consecutive victories over the Crush Gals (although the win over Chigusa was 6/95), but failed so she said she'd try again until she succeeded (I wouldn't make too much of this).
The semifinal saw The Bloody regain the AWF Sekai Joshi Senshuken that she lost to Tamura on 12/7. Bloody used her deadly nadare shiki no Dragon suplex to become the 7th champion. Tamura doesn't really have much bargaining power so the result is no surprise, but at least she got to make one successful defense.
Yuko Kosugi used the Hikari Fukuoka moonsault footstomp to pin masked rookie Ran Maru at 9:48. Kosugi does an awful lot of footstomps, but unlike Kaoru Ito she now has some cool variations to make it more interesting.
Megumi Yabushita & Sumie Sakai got a win over the AJW team of Nanae Takahashi & Miho Wakizawa. However, it was via ref stop when Takahashi dislocated her left shoulder.

12/28: Cooga Hangs Up Mask, Career

12/28 Tokyo Korakuen Hall
On the last puroresu show of the 1990's, Cooga lost her masked an announced her retirement. Cooga wrestled Lioness Asuka in the main event with the stipulations being that if Lioness lost, Cooga got her TWF title, but if Cooga lost, she had to unmask. Asuka beat Cooga with her LSD at 18:31, so a bloody Cooga unlaced her mask and retired. They will have a ceremony and 10 countdown on 1/10. I guess the idea was that Cooga wanted to retire as Miori Kamiya, so they got one "big match" out of her where she lost the mask rather than just having her reveal who she was when she retired. Cooga was a member of AJW's class of 1986, which included Aja Kong, Bison Kimura, and Megumi Kudo, among others. She had a brief run with the Zen Nihon Tag Senshuken in 1989 with classmate Reibun Amada, but never had the ability or charisma to be pushed in AJW. She originally retired on 3/20/93, but came out of retirement at the end of 1995 to be one of the original stars of Jd'. Being one of the only veterans in a league that largely consisted of inexperienced wrestlers, as well as being 5'4 1/2" in a league of 5'0" women, kept her near the top of the card. However, she didn't have enough credibility to be considered any real threat to Jaguar Yokota, Lioness Asuka or Bison Kimura. Her biggest achievement in Jd' was winning a tournament with Sumie Sakai to become the 2nd TWF Tag champions after Jaguar Yokota & Yuko Kosugi vacated the titles because Jaguar was retiring.

12/7:

12/7 Tokyo Kitazawa Town Hall 280:
Yoshiko Tamura became the 6th holder of the AWF Sekai Joshi Senshuken when she beat
The Bloody in the main event. Tamura used a new move called T-Ginger which was said to be something like her reverse doublewrist armsault, except she kills you dead by droppin' you on your head. Bloody wound up being taken out on a stretcher and had to go to the hospital, but she's okay. On the lighter side, earlier in the show Jd' comedy wrestler Obatchi Iizuka came out as a Christmas tree.

Yuki Lee, one of the original "stars" of Jd', officially ended her 9 year career. Although she hadn't wrested for Jd' in more than a year and didn't leave on the best of terms, Jd' had a retirement ceremony for her during the show.
