12/30/00:
Kaoru Ito will defend the WWWA Sekai Single Senshuken against Etsuko Mita on 1/3 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall. Ito will win. In addition to NanaMomo defending against LCO, 1/4 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall has Miho Wakizawa defending the Zen Nihon Senshuken against Kayo Noumi (Noumi may actually win), Toyota vs. Hotta, Watanabe vs. Takako, & Ito vs. Maekawa. |

11/20:
Amateur wrestling champion Kiyoko Yamamoto's match won't be against another amateur wrestler on 11/23. Instead, she'll fight someone from AJW in a match where the rules are theoretically halfway between pro and amateur wrestling. Some of the rules are that you need a 3 count to win (pro), no tackles (her concession), and no strikes (pro concession). |
10/26:
AJW announced their big card for 11/23 called Yoyogi Joshi Wrestling Festival. The semifinal match, Manami Toyota & Yumiko Hotta vs. Shinobu Kandori & Noriyo Tateno, will be rematch from the previous nights L-1 except this time it's a tag and not supposed to be a shoot. My guess is that Kandori will win at the L-1 and Hotta will get a near worthless victory over Tateno in exchange. I believe the main event, Kaoru Ito & Momoe Nakanishi & Nanae Takahashi vs. Mima Shimoda & Etsuko Mita & Kumiko Maekawa, is the first ever 6 woman cage match in Japan. It's good that they are putting Maekawa with LCO since she helped them win in the tag league, but why isn't the person she betrayed, Tomoko Watanabe, in the match. The AJW team has the single and tag champions, but it would make more sense to have Watanabe in Ito's place since she's been more involved in the program against LCO and has the biggest grudge against Benedict Maekawa. Instead Watanabe teams with Kayo Noumi, who she's almost never teamed with, against Eagle Sawai & Takako Inoue. I don't think I need to tell anyone who will be doing the job in that match. The other pro wrestling matches are Miho Wakizawa vs. Kayoko Haruyama, so there's token JWP involvement, and Miyuki Fujii vs. Chiwe Terashita. Amateur wrestler Kiyoko Yamamoto from Nihon University will have an exhibition match with another amateur wrestler. Apparently Yamamoto will join AJW once she graduates. |

Shimin Taiikukan NanaMomo's first defense of the WWWA Sekai Tag Senshuken will be against MihoKayo on 9/23 at Hakata Starlane. This guarantees that NanaMomo will make one successful defense, but with these opponents, it's a case where they titles lose credibility rather than NanaMomo gaining some. Wakizawa also gets a shot at Nanae's Zen Nihon Single Senshuken on 9/17 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall. I could see this title changing hands, and that definitely would not be a bad thing. |

Former World Amateur Wrestling Queen Miyu Yamamoto's debut was postponed because she hasn't had enough time to prepare for it. They were probably rushing her because they wanted her to make her debut on a big TV taping, but realized it wouldn't have been an impressive debut so they thought better of it.. |
