Shinobu Kandori (LLPW) vs. Svetlana Gundarenko (Russia) | |
This was really awful! They pulled their strikes and didn't mind giving up their back. The technique was poor, and even if you were sucker enough to believe you were watching a shoot, neither looked impressive. Really, there wasn't an impressive fighter on this whole show because almost everyone was so inexperienced in shoots (only the main event appeared to be worked) that they were limited in technique and strategy. This was worse than the rest though in a sense because in a real situation there might be a good reason for not trying the incredibly obvious technique, but in a work it comes off as dumb wrestling. Gundarenko was more out of shape than ever, and she lumbered around the ring trying to grab Kandori so she could fall on her. Kandori mainly tried to avoid getting squashed, so you had a little cat and mouse game. Gundarenko used two throws that were something of a uranage. They didn't look incredibly impressive, but on the other hand, if they done them Hase style it would have been too obvious that they were working. After the first uranage, Gundarenko had Kandori's back, so she rolled her over rather than choke her out. After the second uranage, Gundarenko took Kandori down with a headlock, but Kandori wormed her way out. She had Kandori's back, so of course she went after the arm. Gundarenko stood up part of the way with Kandori on her back and tried to throw her off, but Kandori held on and won with a front choke sleeper. The post match was great with an overjoyed Kandori celebrating what in a way is the biggest win of her career, all the LLPW women rushing into the ring to congradulate her, LLPW President Rumi Kazama crying as she took her headset off and stumbled to get into the Octagon and hug her top star. To top it all off, everyone's favorite former Sumo wrestler, Koji Kitao, scooped Kandori up on his shoulders and carried her around the Octagon. 4:08 |
