HYPER VISUAL FIGHTING ARSION

6/23:

6/23 Tokyo Korakuen Hall
ARSION is WAR opened with general manager Omukai stumbling through the announcements where she attempted to introduce 3 new ugly trainees. 2 of the 3 got their speech right. Lioness & GAMI kicked Omukai out and made fun of her since she supposedly booked this card.
Mary pinned Faby with her Michinoku driver II at 8:25. These two are going back to Mexico for a while.
J & the new American girls Melissa & Taylor Matheny beat Yoshida & A & Yoneyama when J used her whiplash on A at 10:09. Melissa talked about the American invasion before the match, which might have a chance of working if the invaders weren't totally green and only a threat to Takase's spot in the opening match. Yoneyama has a really pathetic gimmick now where she's something of a hypnotist. She waves her hand and some of the fans shake spastically. Today she said, "I am snake woman, and I am hungry." After the match, Takako showed up and confronted Yoshida to set up a future match.
Tamada beat Takahashi in a JGP match with her Dragon suplex hold at 13:18. Takahashi was subbing for Momoe, who is out with a lower back injury. No surprise Momoe is breaking down already given the way AJW has overworked her.
In the main event, Lioness & GAMI beat Omukai & AKINO when noki-A pinned Omukai in tornado A at 23:17. Omukai kept hitting AKINO accidentally until AKINO left. Lioness & GAMI then squashed Omukai, beating her bloody. AKINO finally came back as noki-A, but now she was on Lioness' side. There was chaos in the ring with Omukai's friends trying to defend her. Somewhere in there I guess Omukai was pinned (the report I got said the match was thrown out), she got mad at Rossy for letting the match go on, and the fans were just like WTF?

4/29:

4/29 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 1,110
HYPER VISUAL FIGHTING TOURNAMENT ARS 2002 1st Round
Rie Tamada (Dragon suplex hold 6:51) Mari Apache
Ai Fujita (cross arm shiki no suplex hold 9:35) Rena Takase (subbing for Omukai)
noki-A (turned a Yoshida finisher into a pin 16:20) Mariko Yoshida. Probably the first Yoshida style match in over 2 1/2 years, and subsequently probably one of the best matches the company has had. A clinic in transitions and flow on the mat. Yoshida has been training in sambo. She also has a deadly new move that wasn't put over since she lost. noki-A kicked out of 2 air raid crashes as well, but this actually meant something as far as surprising people and in the end showing she'd surpassed Yoshida or at least gotten to the point she could defeat her.
Lioness Asuka (pin 5:42) GAMI. Lioness put the QOA up in each of her matches, assuring she'd win because a draw as their Ariake main event is no, imagine trying to draw 11,000 for something like Tamada vs. Omukai.

2nd Round
Tamada (Dragon suplex hold 8:45) Fujita
Lioness (pin 10:17) noki-A. Also a really good match. It showed the diversity of noki-A, who shifted her focus back to aerial moves. Part of the problem with this tournament is the four best wrestlers were in the same bracket. Unless the original idea was for Omukai to win, again, this match should have been the final. It's obvious that noki-A should be getting the push over Tamada, but with her first singles win over Yoshida and a trip to the finals where she lost to the champion, for once it might seem like the company was moving in the right direction.

Final
Lioness (L.S.D. 15:07) Tamada. This was the match Gong selected as the best of the night. It wasn't even close, but it was supposed to be Tamada's best performance in eons. Tamada is the type of opponent that benefits from being plugged into the Lioness formula. She was motivated and didn't screw up. Of course, the problem with Tamada getting destroyed the whole match is no one gives her any chance to begin with. Nonetheless, this is the biggest push she's ever recieved, although the chances ARSION will follow up on it are slim at best (and not because the push should have went to someone else in the first place). Lioness putting herself over, of course, comes as no surprise. While this show had better wrestling than the previous days AJW show, that show tried to do a lot to build up ARSION's Ariake Coliseum show while ARSION's own show did nothing and that certainly has a good deal to do with the difference in attendances. Omukai showing up after Lioness won the tournament and vowing not to lose isn't going to cut it. The fact that Lioness won this just added to the larger than grand canyon size gap between her and anyone that's actually in the promotion, while the rest of the matches were unrelated to anything going on at the big show.

4/9:

TOURNAMENT ARS on 4/29 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall has these 1st round matches:
Rie Tamada vs. Mari Apache
Michiko Omukai vs. Ai Fujita
Mariko Yoshida vs. noki-A
Lioness Asuka vs. GAMI

3 more no draw matches were added to the Ariake Coliseum bomb:
Lioness defending the QOA vs. Omukai. Remember Lioness only draws when Chigusa is involved, she never even got 2,000 for her top notch matches with Kyoko and Kyoko then (and still) means a lot more at the box office than Omukai.
Yoshida & X (Rossy Ogawa's pick) vs. Hotta & X (Hotta's pick). This is the result of an angle on the 4/7 show where Hotta left Rossy bloody.
Tamada vs. Maekawa
AKINO vs. Momoe, Fujita vs. Noumi in a decision match for the WWWA Super Lightweight, and baby A vs. Lady Pentagon in a mask vs. mask match had previously been announced.

3/31:

3/31 Osaka Furitsu Taiikukaikan 2 850
Lioness made her 2nd successful defense of the QUEEN OF ARSION when she pinned Rie Tamada in her L.S.D. at 19:43.
Omukai & Fujita made their 1st successful defense of the TWINSTAR OF ARSION. They defeated Mary& Faby Apache when Omukai used her shining wizard on Mary at 16:43.

3/13:

The next title matches are 3/31 at Osaka Furitsu Taiikukaikan 2. Lioness defends the QUEEN OF ARSION against Rie Tamada and Omukai & Fujita defend the TWINSTAR OF ARSION against Mari & Fabi Apache.

3/12:

3/12 Tokyo Korakuen Hall
Momoe pinned Fujita in her Momo*latch at 13:27. The show seemed so small time in comparison to the Zenjo vs. ARSION that AJW ran in the same building the week before. Some of Momoe's following attended, so she was the only person on the entire show that got any heat. The big announcement at the end was Momoe and noki-A would eventually meet in a double title match (isn't the SKY title supposed to be a different type of thing than the All Pacific?).
noki-A made Fujii submit to her noki-an backbreaker at 10:04.
Takase made Nishio submit to an udehishigigyakujujigatame at 7:52.
Lioness & GAMI beat Omukai & Tamada when Lioness used her L.S.D. on Tamada at 15:38.

2/17:

4th Anniversary Memorial 2/17 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 1,450
Lioness made her first defense of the QUEEN OF ARSION pinning Yoshida in her LSD at 21:58. This is a bad result because like Aja & Ayako, Lioness has exactly zero challengers. To make things worse, the inept Yoshida is now supposed to lead ARSION against AJW. Why should we care about seeing Yoshida challenge for AJW's top title when she's been unable to beat Aja, Ayako, or Lioness for ARSION's? If it's to avoid a unification match with AJW and be able to have two "big" title matches it's not worth it because the one with Yoshida can't be considered big now, especially if it's against Toyota (I think she'll have the title after 2/24) who beat her without too much trouble on 11/25/01. Anyway, Yoshida quit Executive and formed her own group with Omukai, Fujita, Tamada, Takase, & Yamagata. Lioness has noki-A, GAMI, Faby, J, PIKO, & PIKA. Lioness asked Rossy Ogawa to choose sides, but he's putting off his announcement until the 3/3 AJW show that has Yoshida & AKINO vs. Toyota & Noumi and Tamada & Takase & Yamagata vs. Momoe & Fujii & Nishio. This feud with AJW is going to quickly propell ARSION to another major bomb as they announced they are planning to run a show at Tokyo Ariake Coliseum on 5/11. They didn't even fill up half of NK Hall on 11/25, and now without Ayako they are going for a building that holds an extra 3,500 seats? To show what a death wish Rossy has, the Together '98 show on 12/26 with the legendary Jaguar Yokota's second retirement match only drew a supposed 5,800 in a better environment with the help of GAEA and Jd'.
Omukai & Fujita won the TWINSTAR OF ARSION tag titles from GAMI & Tamada when Fujita used her firebird splash on Tamada at 17:54. With the above unit changes, GAMI & Tamada appear to be done as a team.
AKINO regained the SKY HIGH OF ARSION from Faby, forcing her to submit to a dobitski udehishigigyakujujigatame at 12:16.

1/20/02:

1/20 Twin Messe Shizuoka 500
Lioness & Yoshida beat GAMI & Tamada when Lioness pinned Tamada at 14:52.
Omukai & Fabi defeated Fujita & baby A when Fabi pinned A at 12:59.

QUEEN OF ARSION TITLE MATCH: Lioness Asuka (LSD II 18:51) Ayako Hamada. Lioness introduced the fireball to ARSION en route to becoming the 4th QUEEN OF ARSION.

This show has decimated ARSION. Not only did it bomb - drawing an announced figure of less than half capacity - like everyone knew it would, but the expected total lack of bargaining power was established. Rossy Ogawa talked of doing more big shows (ie he didn't learn from this disaster) and upcoming interpromotional shows with AJW & GAEA, but already the ARSION wrestlers could only beat each other. Lioness, Toyota, LCO, Azumi, ASARI, & even Tsubasa all won. Excluding Hasegawa (who is ARSION even though she hadn't wrestled there) & Malenko, who came out of retirement, the only outsider that lost was JWP opening match wrestler Yoneyama. ARSION has spent almost the entire history of the promotion building up Hamada, particularly the last two years where she was virtually undefeated in singles, but that will quicly be out the window if we see those "rising" star matches we always see because there's no more that Ayako could do in ARSION (beyond avenging today's loss to Lioness), while there's plenty more that the Sato's and Noumi's can do in their respective leagues (at least theoretically), as they've only had some success in tag. GAEA & AJW veterans aren't going to respect the likes of Ayako & Omukai. Either they'll get buried by losing to the "real stars" of the other promotions (the veterans) or they'll get buried by trading wins with wrestlers their age that don't mean much in their own leagues like Chikayo Nagashima (I know it would be a good match, but that's not the point) and Nanae Takahashi. The "ARSION" wrestlers that would get the wins would be Lioness & LCO, who are not really ARSION and will go elsewhere when ARSION stops paying them good money if not sooner. This will most likely be worse than the demise of UWF-I because at least over the very very short term by working with New Japan UWF-I was able to draw a few record houses under the NJ banner and greatly improve the attendances at their own shows. ARSION doesn't have anything that will even draw initially before the credibility of all their fighters is destroyed. Lioness only draws when Chigusa is involved, and that's already been played out in GAEA. LCO can draw for AJW, but they are in just about every notable tag title match AJW has had since '97 without ARSION being involved. GAEA or AJW will go back to these same old matchups without ARSION if they think there's still money in them (which there is if promoted right), so it's not likely that they'll let ARSION take some of the money for them unless they get to work ARSION over in exchange. Few people will pay to see Ito, Hotta, Toyota, or Chigusa against Ayako, Yoshida, Omukai, or GAMI because unlike GAEA and AJW, ARSION only has their small fan base. Their loyal fans will come regardless, but that's all they are working with. The GAEA and AJW fans aren't likely to come because either they don't know the ARSION wrestlers, don't care about them, or know they are no match for their promotion's stars. Maybe one or two loaded shows promoted under GAEA or AJW's banner would do decently, but that's about it unless ARSION is shown to be equal, which will never happen because their wrestlers either weren't around during the 11/92-3/95 interpromotional era or they didn't mean much then and are still seen as such.

9/11:

9/11 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 1,050
Lioness & Yoshida beat Ayako & Azumi when Yoshida made Azumi submit at 19:49. Lioness used her power to make a singles match with Ayako on the 11/25 Tokyo Bay NK Hall show.
Omukai & Mita & Shimoda defeated GAMI & Tamada & Takase when Omukai took out Takase at 12:37. This looks to be the end of VIP, with a reorganization of groups coming on or before 11/25.

SKY HIGH League matches:

noki-A pinned Tsubasa in her Tornada A at 10:40.

6/17:

From Nick Higley:
- Michiko Ohmukai won the 2001 ARS tournament, beating GAMI in the finals. GAMI pinned Queen of ARSION Ayako Hamada in the semis. Ayako was then pinned on May 6th in a TWINSTAR title match by Mima Shimoda, setting up three strong challengers for Ayako. This is the third time Ohmukai has won one of ARSION's semi-annual tournaments, let's hope she actually gets the damn belt this time. She's certainly got the momentum, having also pinned Candy Okutsu in her retirement match.

Mike: It's their mistake to think that one win creates a legitimate challenger at this point. When for the last two years your league has consisted of had Aja running over everyone and starting ia few months into 2000 Hamada beating everyone, it's not the case anymore. GAMI isn't a legitimate challenger, she's strong midcard wrestler that occassionally gets a nice win. Shimoda is a great tag wrestler that dominates that division, but only occassionally has a good run in singles. If she continues to fair well in the JGP then she's certainly worthy of a title shot, but I don't think many people will believe she could actually win that match. Omukai is Mrs. Tournament, but otherwise she's never meant much there unless she had a strong tag partner (Shimoda). To me, Aja leaving has left ARSION with only one possible course of action, Ayako or bust. Unless Ayako is going to trade title match wins with Lioness, she has to keep the title for the forseeable future because there's no wins within the company that can get any of the other wrestlers to the level where they could have a chance to carry it. Many of them had the potential to be stars, but too many things have gone against them. Omukai is the best option other than Ayako, but she went from being almost a can't miss to someone I no longer buy on top and hardly any of it was her fault.

- AKINO went to a 30-minute draw in a SKYHIGH title match with Chaparrita ASARI, then AKINO beat ASARI in the finals of the 2001 Tournament Sky. AKINO had a relatively easy time getting to the finals, going over Ai Fujita (3rd year in a row she's lost in the first round) and Emi Motokawa. Nice to see Emi getting bookings in ARSION. Even if the promotion goes broke, it won't be because of lack of talent.

Mike: One thing consistent about ARSION, they almost always bring in people that can work. Emi is almost lousy by the standards of the free agent types they use.

6/9:

6/9 Hokkaido Sapporo Teison Hall 1,250
Mita & Shimoda made their 5th successful defense of the TWINSTAR OF ARSION, defeating Ayako & AKINO when Shimoda pinned AKINO in her Tiger suplex hold at 21:16.

3/20:

~Yumi Fukawa Intai (retirement) Kinen (memorial) Kokyo (performance)~ 3/20 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 2,100 sellout
After Yumi Fukawa's ceremony began, Fukawa summoned Yoshida and asked to have one last match with her. President Rossy Ogawa agreed to let the match take place as long as they promised not to do any "dangerous play." The original ARSION ring announcer Tadayoshi Okita handled the announcements. Fukawa won the match when she made Yoshida submit to her dobitski udehishigigyakujujigatame at 5:28. Fukawa's retirement drew what's claimed as ARSION's 2nd ever sellout at Korakuen. From reading message boards, it seems like a decent amount of new people attended their first ARSION show today since it was their last chance to see Fukawa in person. Fukawa will be an instructor at Kiyoshi Tamura's U-FILE camp and be president of a new part of the retired wrestlers society (OB/OG club), the "Licence Number Club." Her boyfriend Minoru Tanaka presented her with a bouquet.
Mita & Shimoda made their 3rd successful defense of the TWINSTAR OF ARSION, defeating Omukai & J when Mita used her ganso Death Valley bomb on J at 12:53. The Goddess Shiratori showed up after the match and asked for a singles match with Omukai on a future show. They were both members of AJW's class of '91, but Omukai didn't last so they never had a singles match. They did form an idol pair in the main event of the first Junior All Star show in '96 and in the tournament to crown the first TWF tag champions in '97.
Yoshida & AKINO beat Hamada & Fujita when the ref stopped the match at 14:30.
Lady Apache & Mari & Fabi defeated GAMI & PIKO & PIKA when Lady used a senton on PIKA at 11:35.
Tamada pinned ASARI at 6:26 following a missile kick.

In Yumi Fukawa's retiement match, Omukai & Mita & Shimoda & Fukawa & J beat GAMI & Tamada & PIKO & PIKA & Takase when Fukawa made Takase submit to her udehishigigyakujujigatame at 13:19. Fukawa was "protected by her partners" so she either took no punishment or very little. Fukawa's retirement ceremony is on 3/20 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall. She will second Omukai & J for their TWINSTAR OF ARSION challenge that day.
Yoshida is looking to get the next shot at Hamada's QUEEN OF ARSION.

2/12: Aja Turns Against ARSION

ARSION ~Soritsu (founding) 3 Shunen (anniversary) Kinen (memorial) PART 2~ 2/12 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 1,750
Ayako Hamada made her second successful defense of the QUEEN OF ARSION, pinning Azumi Hyuga at 15:08 following her Hamachan cutter.
Etsuko Mita & Mima Shimoda made their second successful defense of the TWINSTAR OF ARSION, defeating Mariko Yoshida (& Aja Kong) when Shimoda used her deathlake drive on Yoshida at 11:20. In spite of being in a title match, Aja didn't actually wrestle today because she suddenly decided to rebel against the promotion she founded. Aja criticized President Rossy Ogawa, saying things like she doesn't like "being manipulated like a doll." She has formed a rebel group with rookie Miyuki and essentially said she's resigned/retired from her fighting producer job and ARSION (I bet) and will instead get her own matches in whatever promotion she wants (she's doing the open contract bit like Hashimoto was a few months ago). Aja's message was not to adhere to the wishes of Rossy, but so far the other wrestlers are "backing" Rossy and defending ARSION. Since the tag title match was 2-1, Yoshida was destroyed. The problem with this Aja angle, aside from undoubtedly destroying the anniversary show that's traditionally been on of the high points of their year (Fukawa vs. Candy, Yoshida vs. Yagi, Aja & Yoshida vs. Hamada & AKINO may have been their best match last year even though booking wise it was a disaster) show as their best wrestlers either barely wrestled or didn't work at all, is that Aja has been running over everyone since 6/99. The attendance was a little better prior to the start of Aja's push, but they won't be able to approach those figures without her because between her (and whoever helped) booking and never putting over anyone in a credible fashion, all the wrestlers that should have become stars don't mean that much now. Hamada is the only one that's been protected, but she's already beaten everyone during her push to get to the top so now she has no opponents. The one "big" match they have is the Hamada vs. Aja rematch, but that's not something you want to go back to quickly.
GAMI won the Re:DRUG Queen Of Queen Tournament. She pinned PIKA at 3:55 in the first round then PIKO at 6:03 in the final. PIKO had beaten Rie Tamada in 3:59 to advance to the final.
Michiko Omukai pinned Ryo Miyuki at 1:07. It looked like Miyuki wasn't going to wrestle again, but then she came out in street clothes. Miyuki had been boycotting since 2/2, and she "retired" from the promotion after the match, so that's why it makes sense to have her be with Aja from the get go. Obviously, it makes her seem important. Even though she's 176 cm tall, since she has no name value it may be hard to pull this angle off in regards to her because most promotions aren't going to want to pay someone elses no-name rookie. GAEA can afford her though, and that's where Aja is when she's not in ARSION anyway. ARSION desperately needs a new star behind Hamada, and since she's big they've been trying to make her seem special from the get go. GAEA's mentality is to please the older stars and give the scraps to the younger ones (aside from Satomura now, but she's seemingly always been Chigusa's favorite and '01 is the 7th year of wrestling), so that would most likely be a really bad fit.
In a P*MIX Special, AKINO & Chaparrita ASARI & Mr. Cacao beat The Apaches when AKINO went over Mari at 11:20.

GAMI & Rie Tamada defeated Mariko Yoshida & Mari Apache when GAMI pinned Yoshida at 12:44.

1/28:

The 3rd Anniversary show on 2/12 at Tokyo Korakuen Hal is headlined by Ayako defending the QUEEN OF ARSION against Azumi.

1/27:

1/27 Tokyo Differ Ariake 850
Yumi Fukawa got in the ring and asked Rossy Ogawa for permission to have one last match on the 2/25 Differ Ariake show. Rossy agreed, but his stipulation was it had to be a 10 woman match so she would do little to no wrestling.
Ayako Hamada pinned AKINO at 12:53 following 3 spin kicks.
Azumi Hyuga went to a 15:00 draw with Mari Apache. A draw with Mari is not exactly the big push you want to give the next challenger on the Samurai TV debut.
Aja Kong & Mariko Yoshida & Ryo Miyuki went to a 20:00 draw with Etsuko Mita & Mima Shimoda & Michiko Omukai.

1/25:

1/25 Ibaraki Tsukubo Cabio 580
Aja Kong & Mariko Yoshida beat GAMI & Rie Tamada when Yoshida used her air raid crash on Tamada at 17:21.
Mari Apache pinned AKINO at 13:39. Perhaps this will earn her a shot at AKINO's SKY HIGH OF ARSION?

1/13:

1/13 Chiba Kisarazu Shi Kuragata Sports Garden Event Hall
Ayako Hamada & Azumi beat Tamada & PIKO when Hamada pinned Tamada at 18:02.
Yoshida drew AKINO.
GAMI & Takase defeated Aja & Yamagata when Takase made Yamagata submit to an udehishigigyakujujigatame at 14:01.

1/5/01:

Candy retirement ceremony from Nikkan Sports

1/5 Tokyo Korakuen Hall 1,650
Azumi Hyuga & Mari Apache beat Ayako Hamada & AKINO when Azumi pinned QOA champion Hamada in her Michinoku driver II at 19:00.
In Ryo Miyuki's debut match, LCO beat Aja Kong & Miyuki when Mita used her ganso Death Valley bomb on Miyuki at 15:05. Miyuki was bloodied and also suffered a broken bone.
Candy Okutsu had her retirement match, losing to Michiko Omukai in 9:28 when Omukai delivered the B3 bomb. Candy's retirement ceremony followed. She got a ton of streamers. Candy said she isn't coming back due to her injuries and she isn't getting married right now, but she isn't sure what she is going to do.
In a mask vs. hair (I think) match, PIKO made Linda Starr submit to her senseigatame at 6:08.

12/3: Watanabe Puts Career On The Line, Candy Announcers Hers Is Over

HYPER VISUAL FIGHTING CARNIVAL ARSION 2000 12/3 Tokyo Korakuen Hall
Ayako Hamada became the 3rd QUEEN OF ARSION when she pinned Aja Kong at 17:52 following, of all things, three spin kicks. Ayako is ARSION's last hope, so they better not screw up this title reign that they rushed to since Aja had already killed everyone else off.
Mima Shimoda & Etsuko Mita became the 6th TWINSTAR OF ARSION tag champs, defeating GAMI & Rie Tamada when Shimoda used her kakato otoshi on GAMI at 15:49.
AKINO became the 4th holder of the SKY HIGH OF ARSION, beating Chaparrita ASARI in a decision match for the title previously held by Ayako Hamada when she made ASARI submit to a dobitski udehishigigyakujujigatame at 11:15. I think having Ayako vacate the SKY title was a bad move. It seemed to give away that Ayako would beat Aja, plus it reverses the precident that Aja already set of having two belts at once. Most importantly, Ayako is better and more comfortable working with the Lucha stylists, and beating her for the SKY HIGH would have been the best way to make them suddenly somewhat credible. If Ayako isn't going to wrestle these no-credibility types in title matches, which makes sense, then they should have gotten her away from them sooner because now you have a situation where your champion looks better wrestling Apaches and Linda Starr than she does wrestling most of her potential challengers.
In a P*MIX Special, The Apaches beat Candy Okutsu & Ai Fujita & Super Cacao when Mari used her Michinoku driver II on Ai at 16:12. Candy announced that she will retire on 1/5 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall due to neck and shoulder problems that are somehow related to the back problems that caused her first retirement. These problems have continually worsened throughout the year, and make it difficult to move her arm. In particular, it's very hard and painful for her to throw an opponent. She said this time she definitely won't return with another promotion.
Azumi Hyuga & Xochilt Hamada defeated Michiko Omukai & Bionic J when Azumi used her Michinoku driver II on J at 15:40.
PIKO beat Linda Starr via ring out at 8:14.
Mariko Yoshida made the debuting Yu Yamagata submit at 5:01.

11/20:

ARSION held a press conference to announce that Yumi Fukawa, who hasn't wrestled since 7/16, would be retiring on 3/20/01 due to bleeding in the skull from concussions. Fukawa was in internal care for one week in July after her latest concussion. She was determined to return to the ring, but said she decided in October that is wasn't going to happen. As with a number of NFL players, particularly quarterbacks, it would be taking a big risk to return because another concussion could make things a lot worse. Right now she can live a normal life without any problems, so it's not worth the risk. Fukawa has been appearing at the shows as a second for the VIP group, and will continue to do so until her retirement. She said she hasn't decided what she'll do after retiring, but would know by the retirement date. Fukawa said her best match was her ARS '99 first round loss to Mariko Yoshida that earned her the shows fighting spirit award. ARSION is going to release a memorial video and DVD of her. The sad irony is the original ARSION member that improved the most since joining the promotion turns out to be the first original member to retire.

11/19:

11/19 Tokyo Korakuen Hall
GAMI & Rie Tamada & PICO won the Hyper Trio 6 Woman Tag One Night Tournament. They defeated Hamada & Mari Apache & Fabi Apache in the first round when PICO pinned Fabi at 19:42. In the final, they beat Mima Shimoda & Etsuko Mita & Michiko Omukai when GAMI pinned Shimoda at 12:36. Shimoda's team had defeated Aja Kong & Mariko Yoshida & AKINO in the first round when Shimoda pinned AKINO at 16:54.
In a rare interpromotional match, Ayako Hamada went to a 15:00 draw with JWP's Azumi Hyuga. Hamada declared that she'd surpass Aja Kong by taking the QUEEN OF ARSION on 12/3 at Tokyo Korakuen Hall. Granted Ayako has done everything she can do this year (she had every other title and won ZION), but the timing of this announcement is rather bizarre. I mean, Azumi is a good wrestler, but she's no where near Aja's level when it comes to standing, so it seems weird to say you'll beat Aja for the title when you only draw with Azumi. I agree that Aja vs. Ayako should be the title match on the their major year end show, I just would have announced the match after Ayako had done something major. She's accomplished enough this year that there were plenty of opportunities. I think there's going to be a VIP vs. ReDRAG Kanaami (cage) Death Match on 12/3 as well.

11/9:

11/9 Aichi Toyohashi Shi Sogo Taiikukan
Mariko Yoshida & Chaparrita ASARI beat Aja Kong & Fabi Apache when Yoshida pinned Fabi at 15:55.

GAMI & Rie Tamada beat Aja Kong & Ai Fujita when Tamada pinned Fujita at 17:12.
Ayako Hamada made her second successful defense of the SKY HIGH OF ARSION, pinning shodai champion Chaparrita ASARI at 15:07.

10/29:

10/29 Tokyo Korakuen Hall
7tai-8tai Ketteisen (7th-8th decision match): AKINO & Ai Fujita (Fujita firebird splash Lynx 11:17) Red Lynx & PIKO.
5tai-6tai Ketteisen: Mari Apache & Fabi Apache (Fabi diving headbutt J) 12:46
3tai-4tai Ketteisen: Mariko Yoshida & Chaparrita ASARI (ASARI usehishigigyakujujigatame Tamada) GAMI & Rie Tamada
Yusho-Junyusho Ketteisen: Ayako Hamada & Xochilt Hamada (Xochilt B3 Bomb Omukai 10:32 ) Mima Shimoda & Michiko Omukai. What awful booking having a team with a meaningless retiring wrestler win the league. To make things worse, that wrestler pins the wrestler you supposedly spent all last year pushing with her own hold? To make things worse, meanwhile AKINO's team is finishing 7th.

10/27:

10/27 Iwate Kenei Taiikukan 600

10/22:

In TWINSTAR OF ARSION league matches, Mima Shimoda & Michiko Omukai scored a double fall over AKINO & Ai Fujita. Shimoda pinned AKINO in her Tiger suplex hold at 17:25, but the other finish wasn't listed.
Etsuko Mita & Bionic J drew Red Lynx & Piko 20:00. I've seen Lynx & PIKO listed as getting 1 point here, but I've yet to see any finish in this match. A draw isn't worth anything in this league, so I'm not crediting them with a point in my standings unless I can find out where it came from.

10/16:

10/16 Akita Takanoso Chomin Taiikukan 500
Aja Kong & Ayako Hamada & Mari Apache beat Mariko Yoshida & Xochilt Hamada & Linda Starr when Ayako pinned Linda in a senkai (turning) shiki no powerbomb at 19:21.

TWINSTAR OF ARSION 2000 league matches:
Mima Shimoda & Michiko Omukai gained a measure of revenge when they defeated the team that took the TWINSTAR OF ARSION tag titles from them on 7/30/00, GAMI & Rie Tamada, 2 falls to 1. The falls saw GAMI pin Shimoda at 9:45, Omukai pin GAMI at 10:50, & Omukai pin Tamada at 11:20.
