Rayo de
Jalisco Jr. (C) & Atlantis & Black Warrior |
1) Los tecs attacked the bad guys before they could even get situated. The match quickly gained composure with a nice, short series between Warrior y Ultimo where they kept countering each other's spots. Atlantis was in next with Rey, but it wound up as a 2 on 1. That didn't last long though, as he tapped Rey to his backbreaker. Warrior then planted and pinned Ultimo with a tornado DDT to capture la primera caida.
2) Decent action when Caras wasn't involved. Fairly short fall as well, which ended with both Atlantis then Warrior tapping to duel Fujiwara armbars after being pancaked. Not as cool as LGDI usually hits it since Caras couldn't hold either guy up in sync with Rey y Ultimo.
3) Another short but good sequence from the dueling Warriors after Rayo and Caras started off looking bad. Spot of the match was the set-up for the finish, as Ultimo caught the charging Rey and sat him on the top rope. He then vaulted the charging Warrior onto Rey. Los Guerreros turned it into a combo superbomb/neckbreaker that was a little sloppy, but cool nonetheless. Then as they went for their flip pancake both parted Warrior's uprights on the way down giving los tecs the DQ win. 13:07

Dos Mil (C) & Apolo Dantes & Mascara Ano Dos Mil &
Gran Markus Jr. |
1) No woman, no crime? Wrong. Gloria's the only watchable thing about Los Boricuas, so her not being here made this suck even more than usual. Brawling from the start, as usual. Veneno sold a weak stick shot to the arm from Pierroth like he was shot, so he was carried out early on. Unfortunately, the rest of us still had to continue to watch the match. Los Capos won la primera caida, as everyone not named Markus pinned a remaining Boricua in unison.
2) Los Boricuas were clobbered here as well, getting triple and quadripule
teamed throughout. Nitro counted the lights as Markus covered him following
a Dantes powerbomb and sentons from both 2000's. Then Killer and Violencia
tapped to abdominal stretches. Abominal match as always, with Markus attacking
Pierroth after the match getting the only heat. 8:58
Shocker (C) & Negro Casas
& Dr. Wagner Jr. |
1) Kinda disappointing start with Shocker y Tarzan. They didn't do much but stall until Tarzan locked him in a full nelson. Then everyone under the sun got involved and the pace skyrocketed. Tarzan's Boys took control and won over Shocker after a perfect missle dropkick by Tarzan on his opposing captain. They continued to brutalize Negro and 1000% Guapo, but Doc wasn't prescribing selling for himself as we went to break.
2) Total Nation Of Domination here by la raza (minus Tarzan of course) to squash like proportions but in the end it didn't help. Doc layed out Takemura with a Ligerbomb, wicked clothesline, and Michinoku driver II, but a bunch of Ultimo Dragon's boys from T2P ran out, which distracted him from making the pin. Takemura then caught him from behind with a German suplex for the win. nWo must've been in the house considering how much garbage started hitting the ringside area, and a bunch of guys from the back did run-ins for a wild brawl that led to T2P fleeing. Match was a let-down because there was no real sustained period of action. It was either a lot of stalling or Doc and Casas punking Masada y Takemura for the entire second fall till the finish. 12:42

Latin Lover (C) & La Parka
& Gronda & Mascara Sagrada |
1) Shakedown. Breakdown. All over los tecnicos. Lover started off with a dropkick on Garza, but that was the last of the offense the good guys would get for this fall. Face ref Pepi Casas stood by and watched helplessly as rudo ref Luis Salazar helped his boys out early and often, including blocking Parka from getting in the ring to save Lover and later on fast counting Lover as El Main Man y Chessman pinned him following a leaping back elbow from Cibernetico.
2) Los tecs rebounded here to control most of the fall and Gronda put away Metal with a spear followed by a boston crab. Off camera Garza did something to piss off his fellow Vipers, and Cibernetico started choking him until Salazar and company regained some order.
3) It's a good thing that HHH isn't enough of a student to watch Lucha Libre
otherwise he may have to triple his dosage to catch up to Gronda's outfit.
Lover pantsed Garza then Metal pantsed Lover. Lover then pantsed Metal, and
while the crowd popped somewhere off in the far distance a golden haired
man with a Kamikaze in his hand yelled "WOOOOOOOO!!!!". The fun
for them didn't last long though as Garza dropped Lover with a chairshot.
Lover recovered to clobber Metal y Garza with the chair as Cibernetico y
Chessman sat at ringside and watched. Gronda was chained to the post and
at this point God only knows where Parka and Sagrada were. Lover then got
beat down until Perro Jr. ran in and evened the odds. Electroshock tried
a run in but was cut off near the entrance way by someone in the dark. I
think there was a DQ at this point in favor of los rudos, but the match continued
after this with Perro staying involved. Cibernetico and Chessman moved their
chairs and got a kick out of a "Cibernetico For President' sign, so
if Hogan runs again next year he may have some competition from Mexico. Finally
a replay was shown of Parka mistakenly getting nailed with a suicida by Segrada
and 3 plus minutes after the apparent finish a commercial break finally restored
some order. 14:58
Campeonato Nacional Semicompleto: |
1) Quick opening fall with Perro getting a couple of near ones with slow counts from ref heel Tropicasas. Mosco (Shock's second) tossed Perro off the top rope as he was attempting his double footstomp then Shock powerbombed him to put the challenger in the hole 1-0.
2) Perro started down here but quickly came back with a nice tornado DDT off the apron after Shock avoided his first dive attempt. Fall ended shortly after this, as Perro dropped Shock with backdrop suplex a that led to the 3 and la tercera caida.
3) Mosco got involved early on to allow Shock to regain control. Lady Apache's (Perro's second) beauty didn't stop the beasts that Los Vipers are from continuing to double team Perro, so she finally took out Mosco with a suicida. Perro got a couple of near falls after this that would've been 3's minus the slow counts. Shock went up top and Apache grabbed his leg, which allowed Perro to hip toss him off the corner and hit his footstomp for the pin and win. Monster pop for this, but Gran Apache had to run in to save his daughter as Perro was celebrating in the ring. Gran got punked, and Perro finally showed some chivalry and helped her out himself. 13:49
