11/6/98 Chiba Funahashi Shi Sogo Taiikukan Sub Arena

Tiger Dream & Ayako Hamada vs. Reggie Bennett & Jessie Bennett. This match didn't look good at all. Hamada pinned Jessie with her swandive shiki no moonsault. 16:03 (0:30 shown).

11/17/98 Aichi Toyohashi Shi Sogo Taiikukan (850)

Omukai & Fukawa vs. Gami & Lady Metal. The Metals were so bad in this match that they didn't look good even in the 1/15th that aired. It's a waste to have a great technician like Futagami be a goofy rudo. It's also a waste to have someone with great facials like Futagami wear a mask. In addition, why have the far better wrestler of the team, Gami, imitate the poor wrestler, Lady, when Gami is the senior member of the team? Omukai pinned Lady with a kaiten ebigatame (in this case, a reverse rolling clutch cradle hold). After the match, Omukai kicked Gami in the face when she was down, so they wound up having the requisite pull apart. 15:10 (1:04 shown).

11/20/98 Kanagawa Yokosuka Shi Sogo Taiikukaikan (850)

Tiger Dream & Hamada vs. Mari & Fabi Apache. Tiger & Hamada came into this match with 7 points and no matches after this. Thus, a win for Tiger's team clinched them a spot in the finals, but a loss put them on the brink of elimination. Meanwhile, spot blowing Mexicans sisters were sitting pretty with 6 and one match after this, meaning they really only needed a split to make the finals. This shows that ARSION books round robins like New Japan. The difference is that they have less workers, so they keep the bottomfeed on about the same level as the stars. The bottomfeed in NJ would never get a chance to be in a tournament like this, which is a bad thing for those workers but probably a good thing for the fans and the credibility of the leagues. Anyway, because of the bottomfeed, this match didn't appear to be too good. Ayako's sunset flip powerbomb seemed to be her most consistently well executed high spot, which is weird because as time went on she pretty much stopped using it. Ayako pinned Fabi with her La Ayakita to clinch a spot in the finals. 13:23 (0:43 shown).

Omukai & Fukawa vs. Tamada & Yagi. Both teams had one match after this, but Tamada & Yagi had 5 points to Omukai & Fukawa's 4. This meant that Tamada & Yagi would still have a chance of making the finals if they lost one match, while Omukai & Fukawa needed to win them both to be sure. Fukawa was wrestling in her hometown, so she got a ton of streamers. Yagi was more heelish than normal when attacking Fukawa, which was designed to garner more support for Yumi. The focus of the match was Fukawa going at it with her former partner, Tamada, and they let Yumi go over here for obvious reasons. Omukai hoisted Fukawa up on her shoulders after the match to celebrate the victory. 17:19 (2:12 shown).
