Jd' Match: Yuko Kosugi vs. Shark Tsuchiya (Modukutai) |
|
Megumi Kudo was the color commentator for this show because a condensed version was airing on FIGHTING TV SAMURAI!. I wonder what she thought of seeing the lowest form of life "do her thing" to Kudo #2? Keith wrote, "The announcer actually asked Megumi Kudo #1 what advice or thoughts she had for Kosugi in going against Shark. Kudo frankly responded, "Ganbette ne!" This match sucked because Shark was up to her old tricks, not selling anything or taking any bumps, not using any actual wrestling holds (she did a couple backdrops, but that was about it), and mainly carving the opposition up with her weapons. What they did was well executed, but it's kinda hard to blow a lariat (although Luger can usually find a way) and you can't really tell if she screws up with the weapons until the scars start showing up. Still, even if you give it well done, it was totally uninteresting to all but the most sadistic fans. "The real 'excitement' (if you can even call it that) occurred when Shark wasn't doing anything, but her 'buds' on the outside were bumping for Kosugi. Obviously Shark couldn't even make putting her own finger in an exposed electric bulb exciting (maybe it would answer a few people's prayers, but still it wouldn't be exciting)," wrote Keith. What purpose did this match serve for Jd' when their new top face is destroyed for 12 minutes and then pinned following a lariat? Someone will probably bring up that Ryuna was helping Shit out, so Kosugi was outnumbered. Still, even though Kosugi got all her offense in during the first couple minutes before Ryuna helped turn the tide, nothing made me think Kosugi would have won if it wasn't for Ryuna. This was just a total waste of time because what they needed was for Kosugi to pin Shark the first time (she did eventually beat her, in between a number of losses) so she'd have some credibility, but instead they let her be massacred. Seeing Kosugi lose in this manner to Shark did not make me think she had any chance against Jd's #1 heel, Lioness. I have to ask, who is going to come to see Jd' when it's obvious that without Jaguar, the heels are going over every night? "I'm beginning to like Kosugi more and more these days, but a match like this is just fast forward material for me. It's too discouraging seeing a future star like Kosugi get massacred on a 'big' interpromotional show like this. I wished that Kosugi had been used on a match against Kuzumi or some other interpromotional setting where she's billed with her contemporaries and exhibits her potential as a future star rather than being wasted on boneheaded Shark," wrote Keith.
