Quebrada Issue 67A Puroresu Pro-Wrestling Match Review
Issue 67A - 3/18/00
AJW TV 1/10/98

1/4 Tokyo Korakuen Hall (1,820)
Momoe Nakanishi & Emi Motokawa
vs.
Pork Warrior (Tomoko Watanabe) & Akira Hokuto (Free)

This match had too much comedy for my taste. Watanabe did do a good job of imitating a below average wrestler, Hokuto's husband Power Warrior Kensuke Sasaki. The thing is, the original is bad enough to watch, so it's hard to get into a wrestler that's actually worth watching dragging herself down to Kensucky's level, even for the joke of it. The match really picked up at the 10 minute mark, but unfortunately Pork Warrior & Hokuto won less than two minutes after that. The match was adequate, but it was basically just for shits and giggles.

Chris: I liked this match a whole lot more than Mike did. It was supposed to be a comedy match, so there was nothing wrong with it being mainly comedy. This match was hilarious, especially the hula dance. The last thing you would expect from Hokuto was for her to do a comedy match, but she was good at it. I liked Watanabe as Pork Warrior, but I wouldn't to see her do that gimmick all the time.
