SHE IS NEW "J:"
Hikari Fukuoka vs. Tomoko Kuzumi

This series degenerated even further to the point that they are now deeply immersed in the dark realm of mediocrity. The beginning was as lame as always, but the reason the match wasn't anything special was that they didn't deliver the great spots to the extent they normally do. As always, neither could carry the match. The spots they did were terribly ordered. The match was somewhat sloppy; with way more weak looking spots than you'd normally get from these two, especially since both are very strong when it comes to execution. There also seemed to be some miscommunication between the two.

The highlight was Hikari chasing after Kuzumi and eventually catching up enough to abisegiri her. The lowlight was Kuzumi doing a nadare shiki no (released) German suplex where Hikari landed on her neck. I can't describe how nasty this looked, and you have to remember it's even worse for Hikari since the reason she is retiring is that she has a herniated disk in her neck from taking bumps on it for all these years. All I can say is the result of the bar constantly having to be raised is that people start trying to top everyone else by using spots that no sane human being would be willing to take. Some people would say how great it was that Hikari "killed herself for our enjoyment," but what enjoyment is there in someone getting injured and how can I enjoy Hikari now that she's retired due to a bad neck?

A few minutes later, Kuzumi dropped Hikari on her neck twice with her Michinoku driver II, which couldn't have helped things. Hikari was unable to kick out of the second Michinku driver II, which meant Kuzumi scored her first ever singles win over Hikari. I thought it would be a triumphant occassion when Kuzumi finally got this win, but all I could think about was Hikari's neck and how disappointing this match was.

Miko: A good match despite some missed spots. There was one sequence in particular where they were on the top rope facing each other and didn't seem to know what they were supposed to do. Kuzumi fell off the top, then they both raced over to another corner and got on the top rope again. Kuzumi jumped over Fukoka to land in the ring then tried to run over to the opposite corner, but got caught by Fukuoka. On the other hand, there were some really great near falls that kept the suspense of the match up. At one point, Kuzumi caught Fukuoka on the top and did a weird German Suplex off the top. Basicaly she ended up standing on the top facing the crowd, with her legs outside the ropes, so when she suplexed Fukuoka back in, Hikari practically landed on the top of her head. Kuzumi went to the top immediately, apparently to do a move when Fukuoka stood up, but Hikari wasn't moving, which left you thinking that Fukuoka may have really gotten hurt. Despite the loose moments, the finish made the match worthwhile. Good near falls and counters into pins that really had me wondering who would win.
