Rieko Amano vs. Yuki Lee (Free)

Lee was making her first appearance on JWP TV, having left Jd', a company she was one of the original stars of, due to lack of push among other things. The match was better than you'd expect because Lee didn't screw up too much or too badly. Amano was as good as she always is, but she needs to focus her attack because the submission out of nowhere style doesn't work too well within a pro style match.

The match was basically a battle of the tough women, Amano using her shoot style submissions and Lee using her often unimpressive kicks. Not surprisingly, the spots were rolled out and the carry over selling was weak. At least the selling of the moves at the time they were being done was fine. Considering they weren't familiar with each other, they did a surprisingly good job of countering and blocking each others holds. I assume that lack of familarity, as well as the fact that Lee just isn't good, was the reason they kept this match short.

Lee actually did a few good things here. She did a surprisingly good job selling Amano's doushime sleeper. She also did a sequence where she came right back with some type of a high back kick after Amano had ducked her high kick then stepped over Amano's arm and rolled her into an udehishigigyakujujigatame. The finish saw Amano stop Lee's nadare shiki move, and do a nadare shiki no udehishigigyakujujigatame for the first time in a TV match. Lee did a great job with this, screaming in pain and tapping repeatedly from the second she hit the mat.
