Rieko Amano & Sugar Sato (GAEA)
vs.
Dynamite Kansai & Command Bolshoi

This match was set up by the post match of the Kansai vs. Ozaki wild fight. It was a good match due to Kansai, and secondarily Amano. These two could only do so much to keep the match quality up though. Sato wasn't all that great, as she was involved in all the sloppy parts. Kansai was no selling Sugar's weak shots. You have to wonder why so many young girls can't figure out they need to hit Kansai harder. I mean, it's obvious to the women's wrestling fans I know that Kansai will no sell you if you don't hit her hard enough that it's credible for her to sell the blow, so why isn't it obvious to these women who know her and wrestle her? This match needed a hot finishing sequence, especially since it went on too long to begin with.

Michael: Why Bolshoi got the pin here is beyond me. It's apparent that for whatever reason Sugar just can't get it done when she's in the ring with anyone other than her usual opponents. Maybe 1998 was like a delayed sophmore slump for her, but it'd be a real shame if it wasn't and this continues (which it has since he originally wrote this). I mean, it's not like she's having interpromotional matches against people like Tanny and Shiina.

James: I didn't think this match was quite as bad as **1/2. Amano and Kansai looked very good, Bolshoi was acceptable, and Sugar did have her moments, just not enough of them. On the topic of having to hit Kansai hard to make her sell, I had to laugh at a more recent JWP match where she just stood there and let Tomiko Sai dropkick her in the face. Of course, Sai couldn't hit her hard enough, but Sugar, who has been wrestling since 1995 should be able to.
