This was JWP's major year end show. It should have been more anticipated than some of their others because it was their first major show with interpromotional matches against LLPW. The problem is that, as you'd expect, the LLPW women did nothing to help the quality of the matches and Yasha in the main event wasn't exactly making people worry that the show would sell out in 15 minutes like the old UWF shows. As it turned out, the show drew 3900, which falls in their typical 3500-4000 range they would draw the one or two times they'd run the building each year. I'm sure LLPW vs. JWP and Kansai opposing Kandori had more to do with the crowd than Yasha, but this showed this fued had some drawing potential, especially since later interpromotional matches would have had Kandori in the main event. Of course, LLPW once again proved to be too hard to work with, so we never got to see Kandori vs. Kansai or Hikari. Michael: Without question, J-HOLY BATTLE is the coolest name ever for a show. ECW would have had that honor if they went with your name for their January PPV, "Does ECW Suck? Yeah, They've Guilty As Charged." Since I originally wrote this, the league has gotten somewhat better though. Their TV shows usually have at least one good one-dimensional spotfest, which makes them the only somewhat watchable wrestling league in the US right now. Special Thanks to: Michael Smith |
