'99 TWINSTAR OF ARSION Koshiki Leaguesen Kessho Tournament Junkessho:
Ayako Hamada & AKINO
vs.
Michiko Omukai & Yumi Fukawa
Taped 12/19/99 Kyoto KBS Hall (800 "sellout")

A good fast-paced match. It was a one-dimensional match, but they can all work so what they did was done well. The effort was good, but the match really didn't do a lot for me, and half the match being clipped doesn't usually endear me to a match anyhow. The focus was on Omukai vs. AKINO, with Omukai eventually getting the pin with her B3 bomb. It's always good to have a team follow up the biggest win of their career by jobbing to a team that's never accomplished anything...

'99 TWINSTAR OF ARSION Koshiki Leaguesen Kessho Tournament Junkessho:
Mima Shimoda & Etsuko Mita
vs.
Aja Kong & Rie Tamada

This was really nothing special. Aja & Tamada got in an argument after Aja accidentally leveled Rie with a lariat due to Mita ducking. They came to blows, although Rie's were typically lame. After this, Aja never entered the ring again. Rie lasted about a minute and a half in a one on two situation, although their wasn't really that much double teaming and realistically they could have easily beat her on their own. Rie went after Aja after the match, but Aja just held her off until Gami broke it up. Tamada & Futagami walked off together, which led to them forming the Re:DRAG unit. This lead to the group era of ARSION, which has easily been their worst from, well, every standpoint except the quality of the Lucha matches. There's no reason that Rie can't lose cleanly to the far bigger and better LCO, but the angle worked fine toward setting up the formation of groups.

'99 TWINSTAR OF ARSION Koshiki Leaguesen Kessho Tournament Final:
Mima Shimoda & Etsuko Mita
vs.
Michiko Omukai & Yumi Fukawa

This was a pretty lame final. It was just too short to amount to anything. The match was all action, but it wasn't believable because they went right to their big moves. I know they were worn down from before, but still.

Fukawa was the best of the bunch. She was really good, but no one else really made much of an impression. Fukawa was able to use her submissions on Mita after Omukai kicked Mita to soften her up, but Mita always got to the ropes.

Omukai wasn't in much until the last minute and a half. Like Hamada, she got her shoulder up after the new kakato otoshi to Death Valley bomb spot. Omukai came back with her B3 bomb, but Shimoda kicked out. Fukawa was holding Mita off, but she eventually came up from behind and hit Omukai with a blazing chop them Shimoda kakato otoshi'd Omukai for the win. This was a pathetic finish because Omukai had barely taken any punishment outside of the double finisher spot she had already recovered from.
