Tournament ARS '98 Ikkaisen: Reggie Bennett (8-0-1) vs. Aja Kong (7-0-1) |
|
A really short sprint, most likely to conserve Reggie's energy for the later rounds. Theoretically, it should have helped the heat by showing the finish can happen at any time, similar to Liger putting Ultimo over in about the same amount of time in the first round of the J Crown. Aja once again let the other girls be stars because she doesn't need to beat everyone to remain over. She can lose to Reggie without giving anything away while the other girls are elevated to the point she can put them over. Reggie beating Aja really quickly made her look really impressive, which Aja knew would at least partly rub of on the women who beat Reggie. Reggie won with a reverse full nelson. It was very good while it lasted, but too short to rate. Keith: This win didn't look too un-credible since Reggie is a big woman. ARSION wants to put on serious appearing matches, so that reverse full nelson hold worked as a finisher. This wasn't like Hamada rolling up Gami for the out-of-nowhere pin in the semifinal or ZION'98. Special thanks to: Keith Watanabe -
