Minoru Suzuki vs. Yoshiki Takahashi | |
Schilt is always dangerous because he is huge and knows how to use his size. The difference between this match and the two matches where Funaki was able to beat him is that Schilt was able to keep the match on their feet. Funaki has no chance if he's unable to take Schilt down because he's about a foot shorter. All he could do was try to avoid the big blows, but he got put down twice for the TKO. As long as Schilt is able to knee people when they try to take him down, he's practically going to be unstoppable. Schilt took the #1 ranking, making him the top challenger to Guy Mezger, whom he beat in the most controversial stoppage of the Pancrase year back in June. Schilt wound up losing to Kondo in the title match instead because Mezger vacated the title. However, he beat Kondo for the title when they had a rematch on 11/28/99. 7:13 (7:06 aired). |
